Grading vs. Bulk Grading – When is which worthwhile?
Many collectors eventually face the question: Should I submit my cards individually or use bulk grading? Both methods have clear strengths – and clear areas of application. Here's a practical comparison to help you make the right decision for your collection.
What is Bulk Grading?
Bulk grading is a volume-based process where you submit a larger number of cards at once (with us, starting from 10 cards). The price per card is significantly lower because the process is more efficient. The professional assessment remains the same, but the handling is designed for volume. Subgrades are no longer noted on the label and PopReport, only the overall grade.
Advantages:
- Significantly lower price per card
- Perfect for modern sets, complete runs, duplicates, or larger inventories

What is Standard Grading?
In classic grading, the card is examined and goes through the entire grading process, just like with bulk grading. The subgrades for Surface, Centering, Edges, and Corners are noted with their own grade on the label and recorded in the PopReport. This gives the collector a more precise overview of the card's condition.
Advantages:
- Highest level of detail
- Ideal for high-value cards, vintage, rookies, or cards with special potential
- Usually faster processing for small quantities
- Subgrades are noted on the label and in the PopReport
Disadvantage
- Higher price per card
